Me too a big fan of Coldact. Very very effective (if you don't mind bearing with the sedation caused).
Infact I once was sufferring with cold and cough in Bahrain for almost a month and just couldn't shake it off. Luckily one colleague was coming in from Bangalore. Told him to get it for me. He did. Cold vanished in 3 days!
But now my parents warn me against taking it saying it can be harmful. Not sure actually if it is! Just that it is VERY effective!
Actually I don't like taking tablets. I prefer taking rest instead. But the situation these days is simply not conducive to rest. And after 3 days of suffering I had to bite the bullet (or swallow the pill :D).
Yes - these things are very effective. I popped one in at night and felt much better already when I woke up. But I think one or two more during the course of the next day. Don't know if I should have done that, though.
I think your parents are right. In general I would stay away from these and only keep them around for an emergency (travel, for instance, where you can't quickly arrange for an appointment with a doctor).
