26-03-2008 - Late Holi

APAD_20080326 (Late Holi)

Unimaginable colour this evening. I've only accentuated it a little bit by setting white balance to 'Cloudy' rather than 'Daylight' which usually just enhances the saturation under overcast conditions.

This was also my first attempt at combining multiple exposures into a HDR photograph. I don't think it appears very natural right now. I'll try and rework it a little bit some day.

25-03-2008 - Cool blue

APAD_20080325 (Cool blue)

Blue and green are 'cool' colours, as opposed to colours like yellow, red, orange etc. which are 'warm' colours. I wouldn't want to touch that cool blue flame, though!

24-03-2008 - Copper sky

APAD_20080324 (Copper sky)

Rainy days mean weird colours in the sky, sometimes.

23-03-2008 - The one that got away

APAD_20080323 (The one that got away)

It just flew out of my hand as I plucked it off the clothesline, and fell 3-odd storeys down and parked itself on top of the roof of the small temple just beneath our balcony. I'm thinking of ways to retrieve it without bothering the residents of the apartment in the first floor :).

22-03-2008 - Pearls on a platter

My fascination with rainy days continues.

21-03-2008 - Me. Up close.

APAD_20080321 (Me. Up close.)

Hand-holding a stacked lens setup - without an adapter to hold the lenses together - in available darkness isn't the best way to do it, but for what it's worth...

20-03-2008 - Candle-lit dinner

APAD_20080320 (Candle-lit dinner)

Don't you love it when you get Bengalured? That too for 6+ hours in one day?

15-03-2008 - The blessed one

APAD_20080315.1 (The blessed one)

I'm looking into ways to accentuate those rays. I need some Photoshop magic, I would imagine.

I had three other photographs that I shot this day and I had a hard time choosing between the four. The other three can be seen here, here and here.

12-03-2008 - Bird of prey

APAD_20080312 (Bird of prey)

I was shooting some plants and leaves, with exposure compensation set to -1 stop when this chopper flew over. I shot a series of shots without changing any settings as I didn't know how long it was going to hover. So I got this less-than-perfect shot (exposure not spot-on, blades seem static etc.). Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but what really is more important is to be aware of the settings one has on his/her camera at any point in time.

11-03-2008 -

APAD_20080311

Another one of those "nothing" shots.

Also, one of those shots for which I can't think of a title. Obvious, isn't it, seeing as I didn't know what I wanted to shoot, really? :)

09-03-2008 - Running out of time

APAD_20080309 (Running out of time)

Not exactly. The clock's battery was weak and it was showing the wrong time. Anyway, I think it perfectly sums up the idea that I was running out of time trying to generate ideas to shoot.

Those unfamiliar with bittorrent may not understand the title :).

07-03-2008 - Onion

APAD_20080307 (Onion)

Multiple layers (of colour and style). The onion reference was to emphasize the many layers of foliage we see here.

04-03-2008 - Stuff...

APAD_20080304 (Stuff...)

...to shoot when the lights go out.

03-03-2008 - Droopies

APAD_20080303 (Droopies)

There's a little bit of camera shake to this one. Unavoidable, really, when one's trying to pull off a 1/1.6" exposure with no support.

02-03-2008 - White oats

APAD_20080302 (White oats)

And no, my employer does *not* dabble in the manufacturing/packaging/marketing/distribution of any kind of breakfast cereal!

01-03-2008 - Relax and enjoy the evening

APAD_20080301 (Relax and enjoy the evening)

A nice way to unwind after a tiring ride (riding in-city is much more tiring than riding out of town).

I had first heard of Gatorade here. There was a lot of praise for it and I was eager to try it out. I don't remember if I chanced upon any bottles during my month-long visit to the US in March '07, but I think not, for I would most definitely have tried it out if I had. So I jumped at the chance when I saw the local Food World stock it, and I think the praise is well-deserved. It's not like your usual soft drink or fruit juice, although soft drink (without gas) comes closest. The drink is also not overly sweet unlike most common packaged/bottled juices, which is the best part.
